Speakers:
Attorney Shore is a Partner/Owner at Wolf & Shore, LLC, located in Hamden, Connecticut. Wolf & Shore, LLC is a general practice firm with a focus on family law matters. The firm also handles probate matters, estate planning, residential closings and juvenile law. Attorney Shore received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Rochester and her Juris Doctor degree from Albany Law School of Union University. Attorney Shore received her New York State Mediation Certification while in attendance at Albany Law, has completed the GAL/AMC training session offered by the Connecticut Commission on Child Protection, and has received accreditation in the area of Veterans Benefits by the Veterans Administration. Attorney Shore also currently serves as appointed counsel for the Office of the Chief Public Defender in the Hartford Juvenile court for child protection and delinquency matters.
Attorney Shore has received a variety of honors and recognitions, most recently, Connecticut Law Tribune’s New Leaders in the Law 2014, Rising Star in Family Law by Superlawyers magazine for both the Connecticut and New England regions (2013 and 2014), New Haven’s Finest Professionals Class of 2013 and the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys Top 10 Under 40 award for 2014.
Attorney Shore is actively involved in the New Haven County Bar Association as an Executive Committee Member, Membership Committee Co-Chair, and a member of the Family Law, Solo and Small Firm and Trusts, Estates and Probate Committees, as well as New Haven Young Lawyers. Attorney Shore is also dedicated to the Connecticut Bar Association. She is a participant in the Statewide Mentoring program and a member of the Family Law and Estates and Probate Sections, the Professionalism and CLE committee, and the Young Lawyers Executive Committee, on which she serves as Solo and Small Firms co-chair. She also actively participates in the Connecticut Italian-American Bar Association, National Italian-American Bar Association, Milford Bar Association, and is a participating attorney for the Connecticut Women’s Education and Legal Fund. Attorney Shore is also a proud member of the New Haven Inn of Court.
Garlinck Dumont, Dumont Law LLC, West Hartford
Attorney Garlinck Dumont grew up in New York City, moved to Connecticut during her high school years where she graduated with honors. She then went on to graduate from Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) with a Bachelor of Arts. While at CCSU, Attorney Dumont was very active on campus serving as a leader to several campus organizations including the Student Government Association. Attorney Dumont was recognized for her tireless efforts in receiving the Dean’s Award for Leadership upon graduation.
After several years of working in the social services field, Attorney Dumont went on to pursue her law degree at New England School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts. There she continued in the development of her leadership skills serving in various on-campus organization and activities. She even went on to represent the law school in a national moot court competition at the regional level. Upon graduation, Attorney Dumont received recognition from the law school for her leadership and direction, receiving the Dean’s Service Award for Outstanding Leadership and Service to the Institution.
Attorney Dumont is currently licensed to practice law in both Connecticut and Massachusetts. Her current fields of practice include divorce, child custody and visitation; housing and evictions; wills and probate matters; criminal defense and personal injury. Attorney Dumont is a certified Guardian Ad Litem (GAL) and Attorney for the Minor Child (AMC), completing a rigorous six-week training program structured by the State of Connecticut. Attorney Dumont continues to serve the public today as a Co-Chair for the Connecticut Bar Association Young Lawyers Section’s Solo/Small Firm Committee and also as a Director for the George W. Crawford Black Bar Association where she chairs the Judicial Diversity Committee.
Important to Attorney Dumont is her pro bono work with Statewide Legal Services, Inc., a legal aid and referral services program. She also serves on the Connecticut Bar Association’s Pro Bono Committee. In addition to her other community mentorship efforts, Attorney Dumont also mentors middle school-aged students in New Britain, Connecticut through the Truancy Intervention Project, a project designed to pair legal professionals with students experiencing problems with truancy.
Carmina K. Tessitore, Law Offices of Carmina K. Tessitore LLC, Shelton
Attorney Tessitore practices at The Law Offices of Carmina K. Tessitore, Esq., LLC in Shelton and Westport, CT. Her primary areas of practice are family and divorce law, foreclosure, business law, and mediation services.
Prior to law school, Attorney Tessitore served as a certified mediator and program coordinator for Mediation Matters, a private, non-profit, alternative dispute resolution agency servicing five counties in upstate New York. Her issue areas included business to business contract disputes, consumer and merchant issues, construction claims, housing matters, small claims matters, divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, juvenile truancy and probation matters, special education matters, victim-offender criminal issues, and lemon law arbitration.
After working in the civil and criminal fields, and sitting as clerk for a family court Judge, Attorney Tessitore served as a mediation specialist for the Connecticut Judicial Branch’s Foreclosure Mediation Program in Stamford.
Thereafter, Attorney Tessitore worked for the law firms of Hoffman & Hoffman, LLC in Stamford, the Bauer Law Group, LLC in Hamden, and McCabe, Weisberg, & Conway, P.C. in Stamford.
Attorney Tessitore was selected to Super Lawyers Connecticut Rising Stars in 2014, recognized as a Top 40 Under 40 of Family Lawyers in the State of Connecticut by the American Society of Legal Advocates for 2014 and 2015, recognized by Top Attorneys New England’s Outstanding Young Lawyers for Family Law in 2014, and honored by the National Association of Professional Women for Outstanding Excellence and Dedication to Her Profession and the Achievement of Women for 2013-2014. She also joined as an adjunct faculty member of Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2015.
Attorney Tessitore is co-chair for the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the Connecticut Bar Association, and serves on the Executive Committee of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Women in the Law Section, and on the Executive Committee of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section as co-chair for the Small Firm and Solo-Practice Committee. In 2013, Attorney Tessitore was honored to be appointed and served as a District Nine Delegate to the Connecticut Bar Association’s House of Delegates. Additionally, she serves as co-chair for the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee and Young Lawyers Committee of the Fairfield County Bar Association.
Attorney Tessitore is a member of the American Bar Association, Connecticut Bar Association, Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, Fairfield County Bar Association, Greater Bridgeport Bar Association, and New Haven County Bar Association.
As a featured author in the 2014 MCLE New England publication, “A Practical Guide to Divorce in Connecticut,” Attorney Tessitore’s chapter on financial affidavits breaks down the complicated nature of the requirement into easy to understand terms. Attorney Tessitore presents at CLE and seminars on the topics of foreclosure, divorce, custody, alimony, child support, and mediation/alternative dispute resolution, has taught conflict resolution skills to at-risk high-school aged teens, and serves as coach and trainer for mediation trainings. She also contributes print and blog articles to legal and non-legal publications.
Attorney Tessitore has been a certified mediator since 2004, and is a certified Guardian Ad Litem (GAL) and Attorney for the Minor Child (AMC).
Attorney Tessitore is admitted to practice in Connecticut and the United States District Court, District of Connecticut.
